Forecasted for a dry and sunny weekend, we can meet up in groups of six and we’ve even got a long 4-day break coming up!
We may not be able to enjoy our long Easter weekend with a spontaneous trip to Europe or even spend it in the next town over, but we still have a fantastic selection of family fun-filled ways to celebrate Easter from the comfort of your home. Here at wearethemarket we have got your weekend covered from creating your very own emoji eggs to scavenger hunts, we’ve rounded up a host of ways to celebrate Easter at home in style.
#1 EASTER EMOJI EGGS
Whilst we have a great deal of spare time on our hands, the lengthy weekend is the perfect time to dive into arts and crafts. Get your hands on some eggs, dig out the brushes and paint away!
Another simple way you can colour your eggs is by using colour dye. All you need to do is add a tablespoon of food colouring and 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a cup that is deep enough for the egg. Following this, add water to halfway and place your egg in. Remember to keep an eye on your eggs as the longer you leave it in the darker it will go.
#2 CREATE YOUR HOME EASTER CINEMA
For those who are doing their best not to make a trip out to a shop but still want to embrace easter festivity, then this DIY trick will make it happen by using things you can find from around your house.
Search the house for a paper or plastic cup and turn it into an easter bunny. Using card, felts or whatever you have to hand, transform your cup into a festive easter character. Add some googly eyes to make your character come to life.
Once you’ve made it, fill it with your favourite sweets or popcorn, put your feet up and enjoy your favourite film.
#3 CREATIVE CAMP OUT
Make the most of the weather this weekend, if you have all the gear why not set up camp in the garden? Disconnect from the world by leaving your phone indoors, enjoy some family time setting up camp, sharing stories, and don’t forget to decorate with Easter bunting!
No tent? No problem! Simply set up camp indoors by creating a magical easter den. Use your dining room table or the backs of your sofa to build the tent.
In order to make your carrot bunting, cut a 5 x 29cm piece of orange card. Then cut three 1.5 x 12cm pieces of green card. Fold these strips in half. Fold the orange strip in half and place the green strips on the fold line, securing with a staple. Secure the ends of the orange strip together to form a carrot shape.
#4 TAKE AN EASTER THEMED STROLL
Fancy getting out the house? Mix your day-to-day exercise with a Strava map art walk. Download the Strava map app on your phone and walk with your imagination. This is a fantastic idea to spice up your walk whilst also keeping the family engaged, allowing the children (or even adults) to create their own work of art.
#5 EASTER HUNT WITH A TWIST
Why not mix up things a little this year by making your traditional egg hunt a little more exciting or creative?
Bring out your family’s competitive side by creating your own easter relay race. Split your family into two teams and have a member of each team search for an egg at a time. The first family member to find an egg must bring it back to the basket and high-five the next family member to find one!
You can even create a scavenger hunt to keep the family entertained. Get everyone to find things that belong in your house which could be different colors, shapes, or objects.
However you chose to spend your Easter Bank Holiday this year, the team here at wearethemarket team hope you have a wonderful weekend.
